May 25, 2014 - Book Launch

A red carpet along with American, state and city flags greeted guests at the Q Club upon arrival for the launching of Cream of the Crop

More than two hundred people attended the May 25th Launch of award winning author and historian John B. "Red" Cummings, Jr. new book Cream of the Crop-Fall River's Best and Brightest at the Q Club Mansion in Fall River.

Atty. Mark Harty congratulates author John B. Cummings, Jr and his wife Paula with Judge Edward Harrington, Mary Miller, Dr. Dominic Corrigan and Morton Dean waiting for signed books.

Many of those in attendance were highlighted in the book like former ABC News Anchor Morton Dean, Department of Defense Procurement Officer Shay Assad, Broadway singer John Michael Dias, Navy Captain Paul B. Grozen (ret.), Army Colonel David Gavigan (ret.), Joseph Feitelberg, coach Tom "Skip" Karam, professors Anthony Santoro, Justin Carlberg, Phil Silvia and Tom Curry. Physician John Harrington, bankers Charley Carey, Bob Wood, and Judge Edward Harrington and Judge Joseph Macy among others were present.

Part of the crowd of 200 who attended the launch of the Cream of the Crop-Fall River's Best and Brightest recently at the Q Club Mansion in Fall River.

The book which provides mini biographies of those educated in Fall River between 1850 and the present and became highly successful in their fields of endeavor will be available in June at local branches of BayCoast Bank, the Fall River Historical Society and area book and gift stores as well as other locations.

The two-hour event included book signings by the author, a slide show of more than 260 individuals with musical background by Fall River musicians who are also featured in the book.
